Today a visit to Newcastle.
So today my lovely friend Lesley and I went to Newcastle to see the Turner prize nominees art work on display at the Baltic. George Shaw was my favourite but will have to wait till Dec 5th to find out the results. Primarily though my main aim was to see the laser cutting exhibition that's currently on at Northumbria Uni School of Design. Below are some of the pics I took of work displayed in the exhibition. I have to say that it fuelled the fire in my belly and the flutter in my heart! I spent the train journey home with a huge smile on my face. It has inspired me to get on with developing my ideas and getting them laser cut. Better get a move on then............

In need of Inspiration
So it's Wednesday, and I am thinking that as my drawing is so detailed and time consuming, I need to loosen up. For my current topic 'Get me to the Church on time,' I was wondering on ways to tackle my Church drawings and came across the gorgeous drawings of places in Canada by Marc Holmes.
The images below were from his blog http://citizensketcher.wordpress.com from his June 18th 2011 posts.
Shall now go off with my own church photo's, pen and bit of colour and see what happens.
It's time to have some fun.

Starting a-fresh

Soooo, as it's the beginning of a new month, i thought that i would return to my blog and make a proper new start. This is a record for me about how far I've come, goals, dreams, ideas and inspirations. I thought that a great way to begin would be to write a 101 list to do in 1001 days. This would keep me focused with aims for the next months /years. By the way 1001 days brings me to June 28th 2014. It will be fun to see what has been achieved by then.
I will be updating the list as I go along, view the list at: hhtp://dayzeroproject.com/directory under designcookie - Deb R.
As one of my aims is to regularly update my blog, this is what I did at the weekend.
As Sat was hot, hot, hot - 25C and the 1st October, wow can't believe the weather. We all went to Tynemouth with the bikes and rode to Blyth to the ice-cream parlour and back (17.5 miles).
Here's some pics taken along the way, unfortunetly out trusty little point and shoot is poorly so thse were taken on my camera phone.

I adore the work of Annemieke Mein.
Her embroidery is SO amazing.
As I have just finished a felting course, and with loads of bits of dyed fabric, I am going to have a go at creating some beautiful butterflies.
They may not be as amazing as hers, but they will be unique to me!
Have pencil and paper at the ready to start sketching up those lepidoptera!
